Osaka Expo 2025

3/10

"Once in a lifetime, amazing, but...impossible"

The Osaka Expo has come to an end, and I’ll be brutally honest: the ideas were pure perfection. Countries from around the world built massive, stunning pavilions to showcase their culture and innovation—exactly the kind of park I live for.

Unfortunately, the execution fell short. The crowds were overwhelming, making it nearly impossible to move freely, and waiting hours just to see some exhibits or videos was exhausting. The heartbreak came with the best pavilions, all locked behind five-hour-long lines.

I truly hope future Expos are better organized, because the creativity here deserves to be experienced, not endured.

Gushichan Beach, Okinawa 2025

8/10

"Where adventure and relaxation meet"

What started as a small film trip turned into something so much more!

The massive boulders resting silently on the sand were far larger—and sharper—than I ever imagined. The beach was nearly empty, just us and the howling wind weaving through the rocks. Standing there, you could feel the energy of the place, as if the beach itself was alive within the boulders.

Further down the coast, we discovered a quiet, untouched stretch of beach with warm, calming water—the perfect contrast to the earlier intensity. It became a day balanced between pure adrenaline and deep rest.

The only downside was the stretch between the boulders and the beach, where washed-up trash broke the illusion. Still, the experience as a whole was powerful and unforgettable.

Blue Cave, Okinawa 2025

6.5/10

"Short, crowded, but gorgeous!"

The Blue Cave in Okinawa was something I never knew existed. I’d always heard about the Blue Grotto in Capri, so discovering one here instantly had me excited.

The atmosphere was adventurous yet laid-back, with people from all over the world gathering to snorkel and scuba dive. That said, the crowds were intense—at times the water felt flooded, making it hard to stay with your group. But once we reached the coral and fish, every distraction faded away.

The Blue Cave itself is massive, stretching deep into the cliffside. As sunlight hits the water, the entire cave glows a brilliant blue, creating a moment that feels almost unreal. Despite the crowds, it’s an experience that’s absolutely worth seeing.

Pizza in the Sky, Okinawa 2025

10/10

"Delicious, fresh and beautiful"

What started as a simple beach day turned into one of the best sunsets of my life. Leaving Sesoko Beach in Okinawa, we headed to a small spot called Pizza in the Sky, expecting nothing more than a cozy restaurant with a decent view.

Instead, we arrived at a stunning house and garden perched high on a mountainside, overlooking the Pacific Ocean in full color as the sun set. The view was completely unobstructed and unforgettable. Even the menus added to the charm, written on traditional hand fans, while the pizza itself was fresh and cooked to perfection.

It was the kind of unexpected moment that stays with you long after the day ends.

Aharen Beach, Okinawa 2025

8/10

"Classic beach vacation"

Keramashoto National Park makes for a beautiful day trip from Okinawa and is home to the stunning Aharen Beach. Under normal conditions, this would have easily ranked higher for me.

The beach itself is classic perfection—bright white sand, clear water, and climbable rock formations along the shore. The nearby town feels straight out of a movie, lined with small shops and spots to grab a drink, adding to the charm of the area.

Unfortunately, a tropical storm brought nonstop rain, leaving everything cold, wet, and difficult to fully enjoy. That said, on a sunny day, this would be an incredible escape. I’d absolutely recommend the trip—just be sure the weather is on your side.

Arashiyama Bamboo Forest (4).jpg

Arashiyama Bamboo Forest and Hozugawa River Boat Ride in Kyoto 2025

7/10

"A beautiful and peaceful boat ride!"

The Hozugawa boat ride was easily one of the most peaceful two hours I experienced in Japan. Drifting down the river, our crew cracked jokes and shared stories, adding warmth and personality to the journey through the surrounding scenery. My only complaint was the seating—some back support would’ve gone a long way—but overall, the experience was incredibly relaxing and well worth it.

The Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, on the other hand, felt underwhelming. It’s fairly small and overwhelmingly crowded, which takes away from the atmosphere. Instead, I’d highly recommend the bamboo forest along the Thousand Torii Gates in Kyoto. Tucked away on an offshoot trail, it leads deep into serene, towering bamboo and feels far more immersive and peaceful.

teamLab Biovortex Kyoto 2025

10/10

"No words, a must see!"

TeamLab Biovortex in Kyoto was an experience I almost didn’t have. I waited until the last possible moment, assumed it would be sold out, and somehow ended up with the final ticket. Walking in, I expected a polished digital museum—interesting, but nothing life-altering.

Then I stepped inside.

The moment the doors closed, everything changed. The Balloon Vortex room dropped me into near darkness, broken only by deep, shifting lights reflecting off metallic balloons as they were pulled violently through the space. There was no viewing area, no safe distance. You were inside it—surrounded, pushed, and occasionally struck by the moving installation itself.

Time slowed. The noise faded. What felt like chaos somehow became clarity. That room marked a turning point for me, even if the full story belongs elsewhere.

If you ever find yourself in the same city as a teamLab installation, don’t hesitate. Some experiences don’t just impress you—they stay with you.
